So the only reason I clicked on this trailer when I was surfing around YouTube yesterday was because I saw Amy Adams was in the movie. I like Amy Adams, and the fact that she’s going to be the next Lois Lane actually has me happy. Erica will always be my Lois Lane, but she had seven years to create and define the role. Amy’s going to have two hours, at most. So I don’t she can ever replace Erica for me. But I’m happy with her casting and can’t wait to see what she does with the part.
I know many people were hoping for Rashida Jones or Rachel McAdams to be cast as Lois, but I actually think Amy being chosen could end up being like a Heath Leger as The Joker type of surprise to people. Especially after having seen the character she played in the movie The Fighter.
Anyway, people who think Amy’s too sweet for the part of Lois won’t be convinced otherwise by the trailer for this movie. However, I will say – this trailer? Got me. I wasn’t expecting . . . that . . . at all. I only wish I’d first seen it in the theater to see the reaction of a whole audience to it.
I haven’t been excited by a lot of the movies scheduled to come out this year. I mean, I know I’m going to go see Green Lantern (if it doesn’t suck) and Deathly Hallows Part II (even if it does suck), but that’s kinda it. But this? Yeah, okay, I think I’m actually going to go see this too. Very clever marketing guys.
