A new FMA PV

So it’s been a little over a week since I last blogged, but for good reason. Real Life, as I noted before, has been taking over a bit, especially last week. What’s exciting to note is that I’ve gotten, it appears, a new freelance web designing job. So instead of blogging last week, I was busy doing some sample layouts for that job.

The CEO of the company loved the sample layouts and now wants to go ahead with them and the redesign of the full company website, so I’m now quite excited about that.

So, granted, because of this, I haven’t had time to really do much work on my Fullmetal Alchemist General Review. However, with the new series premiering in, now, less than a week, I am definitely going to have it up and posted before Sunday. Because I know, if I don’t write it up before the second series comes on, I never will. Finally seeing the manga animated is going to seriously affect my opinion of the first series, (reading the manga already has), so I want to have my unaffected thoughts written down before then.

After that, along with doing some blogging of recent Smallville episodes and news/spoilers, I also want to blog about the first season of Skip Beat, which just ended last night.

So now things have calmed down a bit I can start blogging regularly again. And, in anticipation of the new Fullmetal Alchemist series, here is an awesome 60 second promotional video (aka TV Ad) that came out for it a few days ago:

A few thoughts and status updates

My General Review of Fullmetal Alchemist is late, I know. Honestly, I’ve been so busy with personal things for the past few days, I haven’t had much time work on it. I don’t plan on writing too much of my private, personal life in the blog, but sometimes real life will have to be put ahead of what I will be working on and things will be delayed. And real life is – and will be – taking up much of my time this week.

I am going to truly try and do the write-up tomorrow and get it posted by the end of the week though. My thought are so jammed packed with things I want to say about the series however, organizing it into a coherent write-up is proving a little daunting.

I am determined to post the review before April 5th when the new series starts though.

I also meant to do a write up of last weeks episode of Smallville, but I honestly didn’t have anything in depth to say about it. The most I can truly say is that thank God Lois was finally back, and the Lois and Clark scenes were decent and worth watching. But Guest Star Tori Spelling? Ugh. I was never a fan on 90210 so I’ve never watched much with Spelling it. What I have seen of her I’ve never like – excepting her performance in Scream 2.

I’ll probably have more to say once the season finale gets closer – especially if some of the rumors I’ve been hearing regarding what to expect turn out to be true, on top of some season 9 speculation. (Season 9. Wow.)

I am also going to begin working on a new Fee Layout Template, based on some of the images that were released for the new FMA series. So begin looking for that soon as well.

I completly forgot about this . . . .

Man, I’m obviously really slow, or just downright forgetful.

So not only does the new second series of Fullmetal Alchemist start on April 5th of this year, but apparently, the second season of La Corda d’Oro starts on March 26th, called La Corda d’Oro ~secondo passo~. It may just be a one-off TV Special, and not a full series, but I don’t know yet.

La Corda d’Oro was the first anime I discovered fully on my own – I had never read or heard about it (or it’s fandom) at all when I went looking for more anime to watch after devouring Fullmetal Alchemist and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The way the series ended left me wanting for more, and it was the second manga series I started reading (the first being FMA) because of that want.

So far, 2009 is turning into a great year for anime (at least for me). Only thing that would make it truly awesome is an announcement that the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya was officially coming out this year too (because a second season of that series was needed, like, yesterday ;-D).

I’m such a geek/fangirl – and I’m not ashamed to say it.

So I haven’t been feeling very well for the past few days, so no posts. I had started work on my Fullmetal Alchemist General Review, but haven’t worked on it since Sunday. I’m going to try and start working on it again tomorrow, but I have some errands I have to run – plus Smallville finally comes back from hiatus as well, so I know I’ll spend most of the evening watching and bitching about it. (I’m in a love/hate relationship with Smallville that I’ll expand upon later – maybe even tomorrow night).

So anyway, I’ve just been surfing the net as I was laying in bed trying to feel better and, remembered I hadn’t checked today to see if the the Official Japanese website for FMA had been updated with anything new. So I surfed over, and it was.

Oh boy, was it.

If you go to the site, the left side of it has an image that loads via Flash. The site uses Flash for it because its set to load a random image from many that are archived I’m guessing. Anyway, the image that loaded tonight actually made me squeal OUT LOUD in delight.

Because it was an image of the villain from the FMA manga. And not only that, one of his “children” was also the one from the manga, not the one the first anime used to fill the role.

As much as I love the FMA anime, reading the manga has caused me to be annoyed by some things the anime did differently from it. Seeing the image of the villain from the manga, however, delighted me more than I thought it would. Which says to me that some of the things the the first anime changed from the manga that I didn’t like – I guess I really didn’t like.

And that I’m also just a big ol’ fangirl about this whole series.

April 5th can’t get here soon enough. :-D

New Fullmetal Alchemist ad – Series 2 starts soon!

I’m still working on my Fullmetal Alchemist General Review write-up (it’s going to be long!). But another new ad has just been released for Series 2, which starts on April 5th:

It’s getting to the point where I think I might just watch the new episodes – if I can – even before they are fansubbed. That’s excited I am about this. :-) Ads have been running in Japan since December, but this one, which first started airing in February, is my favorite one so far:

The art for Series 2 (which in Japan is apparently going to be officially known as Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist) definitely looks like it’s leaning more towards the style found in the manga, and that’s a great thing in my book.

I’m going to try and have the General Review for Series 1 up by late Monday if I can, so hang on. :-)
